Will it work
The internals seems like they would be the same, but you'll be swapping over all the external parts like intake manifold, turbo, accessory bracket, etc. Seems like you might have to also swap over the oil pan and something called oil pickup.
So I imagine it could be used as a replacement for the core block/head of a CAEB, but you'll be swapping over more non-core parts than you would otherwise.
That said, one other area that some quick looking seemed to imply a possible difference is the end of the crankshaft. Obviously, you'll be swapping over the clutch and flywheel or whatever. If you have an automatic, then you wouldn't have a needle bearing and so maybe any issue with the needle bearing seat would be irrelevant.
But these are the areas of concern that seem to pop up with a quick google search.
