Winter Tire Repair Debacle

Winter Tire Repair Debacle
HI.just had an interesting experience while trying to get a tire replaced on my A4. I was in the process of getting the winters out of the basement when I noticed one of them was flat. There was a large nail in the tread near the side wall, not repairable really. So I phoned round and my Audi dealer was able to get me a tire. As it was only going to be $20 more than the local shop I decided to let Audi do it.
So I drove down there (in my Golt GTI), and walked into the service dept with the wheel. Well anyone would think I had just turned up from Mars!!! 6 service people and one parts guy and eventually they agreed to get it fixed. I had to pre pay for the tire in parts, and then go back to service to get it booked in. This really confused them as there was no car, shock horror I do my own winter wheels!!! They then said I could bring the wheel back tomorrow, seriously, its here now duh!! I wouldnt mind but I bought my A4 new from them 3 years ago and just ordered a new TT RS. I am so concerned I might cancel the order for the TT and go elsewhere!!!
Shocked and yet very amused at how a simple repair can confuse a whole service team, WOW!!!
Cheers

Your dealer's service people couldn't figure out how to address a wheel or tire without a VIN number and a diagnostic port. They're getting too complacent with machines telling them what to do that they forget the basics.
