190 vs 252 hp on 2.oT
I'm new to Audi, after 7 happy (not trouble free) years with a 525i BMW.
The 2.0T comes with 190HP and 252HP, I have the former.
What is the difference between the engines for those +62HP ?
Hardware, software?

Yes, the new 190HP engine has more advanced hardware. It is a B-Cycle engine (specifically an EA888 Type 3-B), as is the EA838 3.0TFSI used in the S4. This mean variable compression, variable valve timing, etc, etc. There have been many article on this engine published on the web. Just search "Audi B-cycle".
It is one of the most fuel efficient engines the group makes, which is normally the reason people buy it. Doesn't make sense to me that you would choose this engine, and then try to turn it in to something else. If you prefer power over efficiency, the "standard" 252hp version would have been a better choice. Perhaps you are in a market where choices are limited.

In Mexico the two engines are available, 190 and 252HP, although the price for the more powerful engine climbs by more than 40%. The pull of the 190HP and 236 lb-ft is very nice actually.
I am more of an environmentalist and although I like the sensation of power, in the long run I prefer fuel efficiency. I was surprised on the first road trip, 500 km half at 160-170km/h and half 120 km/h it yielded a little over 34MPG

It was really fun, very quiet and comfortable ride, and I was amazed that at 170 km/h the engine runs at 2500 rpm, see the pic

I also went with the 190 HP engine, and it has plenty of power for me. My previous car (Acura TSX) had about the same HP, but much less torque. I have had the car for a year, and have averaged 39 mpg, doing mainly highway driving to/from work. I averaged about 30 mpg in my TSX.

The original 2.0T as it is seems like a very good engine. Why did Audi bother changing the engine?..
