I can't help with why yours may not be working, but can say my IPOD Classic 160 works perfectly when connected via USB. Perhaps try a different cable? (I don't think there have been software updates for Classics for quite a while, so I doubt it's that.) If that doesn't work, perhaps try a restore through Itunes, but make sure you have all your songs backed up before doing so.

I plugged in my wife's older Classic 80 and it said "Media Source Not Readable". My 160 is 7th gen. Maybe only the newer ones work.

I am using one of the last Ipod Classics(128gb) and its working without issue. Are there even updates for this thing anymore?

Audi/VAG has continuously updated the entertainment hardware and software over time and as a consequence, each year some older Apple (and other branded device) models are no longer supported. Not uncommon in the world of computers.

My older iPod wasn't readable. I used an sD card to load my music to Jukebox.

When you used the SD card, did you create playlists and such and will it recognize it.

Does it recognize Album art and display it, or is it just reading it all like data and simply providing file name.

How easy is it to search through the playlists or can you only search through the entire file library......for instance, if I had an 80's playlist and I wanted to find a song from Prince would I be able to search just in that playlist by song title or singer or am I gonna have to search all files by singer name or song title

I can confirm that album art displays.
I haven't tried playlists but other comments I've read says it's possible. Currently, I'm just using shuffle play.
