Once the first S4 show up I'm sure someone with a cable will help and do a quick scan to help figuring out the difference, until then it's wait and see if one post any information in public.

First time I read thru this thread. You all have done great work. Glad the coding is working so well. Not so much success over in the 8V A3/S3 forum.

From the Q7 4M forum where the issue is more frequently observed:

[46 - Central Convenience][Adaptation - 10]
Scroll down and find channel "Time for opening rear lid with remote control"
Load Stored Value (should be 800 ms)
Enter new value in "ms". Example: 2000, Max: 5000
Click Do It

Hey AudiA4B6US

I've been working on codings in the UK on my Q7 4M. Very versed in VCP/VCDS and ODIS.

FYI: I have Hex-Net and VCDS 16.6.0

Perhaps we could join forces to see what else can be uncovered.

Here is my post in the UK I'm tracking. The last 3 items I have the coding for, I just havent posted online (yet):

How To Q7 (4M) Coding

Funny, your Enable PDC is enabled by default on UK cars... another wierd one.

Cheers

Andy

Edit: I have a gut feeling you may already have seen my thread

Nope, I didn't, although some of the coding is also posted on Motortalk.de.

re: chirp, our cars only chirp when locking, not when unlocking, do you have the coding for the double chirp on unlock?

re: ACC in MMI, no security code was required on my A4 B9 to enable this feature but in only works with VCDS 16.6.0 (maybe HEX-NET only) and VCP

BCM1(STG09) and BCM2 (STG46) seem to be completely undocumented at this time, all the nice hacks with the lights don't work anymore. While VCP has some options for the B9, it didn't really make a difference after applying the various codings via zdc.

Cool,

ACC in MMI I got working with VCP and/or VCDS 16.6.0 and Hex-Net. Both worked basically but I needed security code on VCDS. At least I did for my car

Chirp on Unlock, yes I have the coding for that. Let me sort. Can also change it round so lock is one or two beeps, and unlock is one or two beeps. Can also make the chirps "longer".

See the video links I've put up in the thread link I just sent you for Lock/Unlock "Chirp"

Cheers

Andy

Edit: Agreed completely on 09 and 46. I just was trying to disable the DRL wink on 09 just now, but no beans yet.

Newb question: how does making these kind of modifications affect the warranty and/or maintenance plan (ie Audi Care)?

It depends :-) I never had problems but there could be a situation where the dealer or Audi says no to a warranty claim. Most coding is harmless and easily revertible. Some changes though may brick ECUs requiring expensive repairs. The codings listed here should be safe as far as I can tell. But as always, no warranties, it's all your own risk.

Thanks. What kind of investment in hardware/software is required to implement these types of tweaks?

In the U.S., you have some protection under the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnus...s_Warranty_Act), which says that the auto maker must prove that the modification cause the malfunction for which the warranty claim is being made.
