You're having better luck than me. The Java applet downloads... and then just vanishes. *sigh*

There was a Java update just a couple days ago. Maybe you need that.

I think it's probably the other way around, i.e. my Java (or something else) is too new. I'll go troubleshooting it later... *sigh*

Downloading mine now. 10GB file. Can it be installed via USB or just SD card? If SD card, where does it plug into?

I got around this by downloading the java app to my desktop then opening it directly from there..

you have a premium plus, so there should be two sd card slots in the glove box in the DVD player. You should check those out, they are really useful for storing music or books. Anyway, when you update, put the sd card in, go to Audi Connect on the MMI, choose software update, choose the appropriate sd card slot and off you go,

Thanks gguy! I don't have an SD card...only a USB drive. I'll try it that way and, if a no-go, I'll head out and buy an SD card.

OK...just went out and the MMI does give the opportunity to install through USB. I put both the Mib1 and Mib2 folders onto the USB stick. However, it will not allow me to select the USB as it remains grayed out. Am I loading everything I need onto the USB or am I supposed to do something more before attempting an update? Shouldn't be any different for an SD card versus a USB.

Anyone whose done it have any insight please?

Thanks !

In case anyone is confused about where to check for and obtain Map updates, you should be logging in to https://my.audi.com (and choose local portal if it's offered). You may have to register with your VIN if not previously registered.

Then click on "Audi connect services" under the rendering of your vehicle, and scroll through the items until you see "Map update".

You won't find it at https://myaudiconnect.com

In addition to my post #18 above, can someone take a screen shot of the latest version number that's associated with this update or just type it into a reply? Thank you
