A4 oil change cost
Hello,
I have a 2018 A4 premium plus car. I asked my dealer how much they charge for a oil change and they said $160 with tax and fees. I was wondering if this price is reasonable or am i better off going somewhere else. He said that there quality is better than somewhere like Jiffy Lube. I was expecting more of $60-$100 price. Also what is the recommended synthetic oil for a 18 A4 2.0T? Thanks.

Don't go to a Jiffy Lube, that's just asking for trouble. I change the oil myself with Liqui Moly and you actually don't have to go under the car. There's a plug near the front of the engine that you can suck the oil out with a pump. I got a MightyVac from amazon and it takes about 10 minutes to suck out 5.5 quarts. The oil filter it right there too, so it's about 20 minutes to change the oil on my own including clean up. Probably costs me about... $60 for oil and filter per oil change with $90 for the oil syphoning tool.
Fyi - The plug underneath the car is plastic and it clicks into place, so it wouldn't be hard for them to overlook it and try to over tighten it and strip the screw.
Hope this helps!

Lube shops like Jiffy Lube are a definite no-no. The last resort would be the dealer, but you can't watch them work & the price is typically outrageous. I've been doing top end oil changes on our Jetta Sport since new & I just did a 1,000 mile oil & filter change on my A4. The process takes about 30 minutes start to finish. I use the LiquiMoly Next Gen oil service kit from ECS Tuning. The kit is $65.00 I believe. I took the opportunity to install their polished dipstick & polished billet oil filter housing as well this time around. I use a Pela oil pump rather than the Schwaben pump that ECS sells, but you can't go wrong with either one. Hope this helps.

Here in the Los Angeles area,
Audi Pacific in Torrance had $69 special earlier this year. Audi DTLA also had the same special.
Currently, $89. https://www.audidtla.com/specials/service.htm
Circle Audi runs specials from time to time as well: $79 or $89.

Oil change prices
Audi of Ontario CA runs a special 99 bucks. Audi of BH that's Beverly Hills $229 non special price
I took my Audi A4 to my local VW dealer. The tech who serviced my 2017 GTI has an S4
99 bucks all day long
Same Edge Professional
Oil change isn't rocket science. Oil, filter new plug
My 2018 Audi A4 Quattro P+.
My 2 cents

I usually pay between $50-70 for oil changes on my 2010 GTI at VW dealers. Can't see why you couldn't do an oil change at a VW dealer since the oil and filter is the same on an Audi 2.0 TFSI as a VW 2.0 TFSI. You would miss out on any TSB's or recalls by not having an Audi dealer do the work.
