I am actually trying to retrofit a Heated Steering wheel in an A5 SB but given that the chances of people having an A4 with the Heated Steering Wheel are higher, I thought I would ask here. Any chance of seeing your Auto Scan to see what I need to change to retrofit a Heated Steering Wheel. I know I will need a new wheel and steering stalk controller. But what about the coding to make the car aware that it has the Heated Steering Wheel parts fitted.

Think the steering wheel has the button to turn it on/off replaces the favourites button with heated steering wheel button, the clock spring needs to be changed and as i understand the wiring from the column on most models is all there, then it needs coding

Yes the Steering Wheel is different. Then the Steering Wheel Stalk is different too. The slip ring and the Steering wheel stalk is now one single unit.

I have an A4 with heated steering wheel, but can't help with programming questions. However I did want to chime in as I custom ordered my A4 with the cold weather package and if I had to do it again, I probably wouldn't opt for it. I've only ever used my rear seat warmers for my dogs (no lie) and I've thought to use the heated steering wheel maybe twice throughout the entire winter, and I'm in the northeast. There's a reason they price the package as low as they do.. cooled seats, on the other hand, I would love. But I would have had to add the sport package and I feel like one other package, which would have cost me thousands more.

Thanks for the replies. In my case my wife uses the Heated Steering Wheel on our current BMW may be 9 months of the year. So was extremely disappointed when I couldn't put it on our A5.

Is there anyone with the Cold Weather Package and has a VCDS cable?

@bruce_miranda Did you manage to sort this out? I'm contemplating retrofitting a heated steering wheel to my Q7 (4M) now that winter is coming, but I can't seem to find any guides on if this really needs new hardware except for the steering wheel or not, as well as any coding changes needed. The hardware should at least partially be the same on A5 and Q7, as well as at least parts of the coding, so your experience might help me. Any parts numbers you used would also be greatly helpful.
