I recently bought a used 2017 and according to the sticker it was not included.. The original delivery point was to Michigan and since Michigan doesn't use front licence plate...

Honestly, I doubt it. I believe it only fits a 2017 A4 Allroad.

I bought an EOS frame on eBay for $45. I just put in to see how it worked. Will put it on to get my no license plate fix-it ticket and take it off after. The two places that I tried the frame mounting did not work well with the front parking sensors. Didn't fool around too much since it is not going to be permanent. I washed my car yesterday so no more crap on the hood and grille.

I put the OEM bracket on last year and it promptly fell off in a car wash - lost forever. The OEM bracket is hefty and using 2 self tapping screws to attach it to the grill is a terrible design flaw. I also disliked the fact that it was so much bigger than my plate and thought it looked anything but OEM. I finally got new plates and went the DIY route. I spent $7.50 on a Cruiser 79150 universal mounting bracket from Amazon. It has slots that lined up perfectly with the 2 pre-existing holes in the grill. I used #6 1 1/2 inch metal screws (basically self tapping in the soft plastic of the grill) and added red Loctite to the threads this time so it won't fall out. I had to stack two washers under the screw head to make sure the bracket held on without the plastic bending. I put a narrow stainless steel frame over the license , mounted it, and it's done. I now have a framed license plate on the front that is exactly the same size as the plate. It feels much more secure than the OEM did (probably user error...).

I have a 2017 front plate bracket (holder) if you are interested. I removed mine and installed lower with a different frame and sturdy zip ties because i didn't like the excessive size of the frame (Japanese/US compromise) and the disruption of the plate on the good looking grille. Pic attached (there's also a thread about my install).

Don't put your plate down at the bottom of the grille like that. You are blocking airflow to the intercooler and radiator.

Thanks. I'll research that. In the meantime, I'm driving about 10 miles a week due to COVID .
