Audi phone box covid credit
 

So my new 22 Prestige just came in without the phone box, and audi gave me a $250 credit. Can this be retrofitted into my car? Not sure if it's a simple plug and play or not.

Kufatec sells a retrofit kit that works like the factory part (antenna signal boosting using external). it's a lot more than the credit they gave you => €524

Keep in mind that they sell a kit which includes a phone box which have 12V slot embedded but you probably don't have it there. I bought the phone box kit from ebay and wiring + coding dongle from Kufatek. Because it requires a lot of disassembling I took the car to a garage where they do retrofits only. It took them about 7 hours to do the retrofit. Since my car is US import I had to buy this from ebay:

The wiring goes from the phone box up to the MMI unit in the glovebox and back to the left side of the rear bumper where the GSM antenna is located. I didn't have it and I didn't buy it but it can work without it. And I swapped my smartphone interface from my unit since this one was for charging only.
