In a auto loaner, my manual is in the shop, just a FYI, noticed if I press the start/stop button when parking, it will go into Park automatically. Just for those that did not know.

I've been in exactly the same situation for a week (own manual, driving automatic loaner) and I ended up pairing my phone so I could voice dial and make calls. I noticed the same thing you did, plus I could swear that the wording of the voice responses when making a call are slightly different.

Parking brake also engages automatically.

Correct. It's automatic when necessary.

On mine it is very random, sometimes when parking in the same place the EHB will engage but sometimes I have to flick in on manually...

My car has never not set the parking brake when shutting off directly, even on my very flat driveway and in garage.

As a previous poster said, it only does it when you park on an incline. My A4 has done this a few times when parked on an uphill slope.

And as I, and another poster said, it does it when not on an incline also.
