Default Benefit/Drawback of a new 2017 leftover?

I'm in the market for a B9 Prestige. I've come across one or 2 2017 leftovers. I don't know the price yet (going to check one out tomorrow) but wanted to know opinions on them.
I know it's mostly the same car, I'm more curious on whether there are good or bad to buying a leftover. I had one person tell me to steer clear because of resale value (basically I'm buying a car that's already a year old).

What else?

The 2018 Prestige comes standard with the driver assistance package, leatherette wrapped door handles and console, and acoustic side window glass in the front. Things to think about. However, I can't see anything wrong with a good deal on a brand new 2017. That was my plan, until I found it impossible to find a 2017 with features I wanted where I live. Good luck and enjoy. This is the best car ever!

Bought a '17 in September and there were good incentives by Audi to move them off the lot which I think from a price perspective comes out as a wash when it comes to resale. I am very happy with my choice but to each his own.

Depends on where he lives. Even in Canada, what comes standard is totally different from US. Apparently we don't get acoustic side window glass or leatherette wrap (only on black optic package). Though, Canada gets S-line interior but US doesn't for instance. A lot of things are optional in Canada, but is automatically added in US.

Edit: actually OP is in US since he refers to it as "Prestige" lol

some of what you'll lose in resale may be offset by the relative low mileage a left over would have compared to one sold 10 months ago.

Well I saw it and it was a decent car. Very nice actually. But I actually wound up with better incentives on an '18. Very interesting. I never really put much stock in a dealer taking care of someone. My dealer I've used for the last 3 Audis gave me what I thought was good pricing on the 18. The other dealer with the '17 kind of threw a price at me and that was that. So the '17 which stickered for $53k wound up being around $1k MORE than the '18 which stickered for $54.5k after incentives and stuff.

I had the exact same situation at teh end of August. I was set on a 2017 Prestige w DAP, but my local dealer gave me a better deal on a 2018 Prestige they had on the lot. Mine stickered for $54350 and was sold for $48200, minus the 800 first month payment from AOA financing. I was happy with that deal
