To be fair, the stock Pirelli Cinturato P7 is a Grand Touring tire while both Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3 + and Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 are ultra high performance tires (in the A/S3+ case, also in high performance version). Obviously their focus is different thus the A/S3+ and DWS06 has the edge in performance.

Also to be fair, the tires on my radio controlled car perform better than the Pirelli. The Pirelli are probably the poorest performing tires, regardless of category, Ive ever driven on.

Which A/S 18'' tire is recommended for lesser road noise and comfortable ride (dont want to feel every bump on the road). the S4 B9 thread had varying opinions on road noise for the Michelin A/S 3+.
i live in Nor Cal, so not much rain here.

As mentioned, I have the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ High Performance and I do not find them noisy at all.

I would opt for the DWS06 because the sidewall is a little softer than the A/S3+, so that will give you a more comfortable ride while not giving up too much performance.

Michelin PS AS3+ would be a really good choice. I don’t have experience with it but I’ve used Michelin PS3 tyres on others cars in different countries and they are amazing.
I’ve said it a million times and I’ll keep saying it. The Pirelli P7 is the worst tyre I’ve ever experienced in my life. Bar none.

I have the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ on my 2018 S4 and love them.. I have the 18s.. I'm in NY, so we get some snow.. Snow performance is acceptable for me..Wet and dry performance is great.. Road noise is quiet.. I put them on my S4 the day I picked up the car new, replacing the summer Potenza S001s that came with the car (I picked up in February, and a friend with an A4 bought the Potenzas from me).. I have almost 11,000 miles on them, and between 6/32 and 7/32 of tread left - started at 10/32. Would definitely buy them again. I think most of the complaints for road noise, at least on the S4 forum - were from people that had the 19s

What is so bad about the P7s? Customer and vendor (eg Tirerack) reviews are in general positive. Can you provide details of shortcomings?

(I know you didnt ask me)The longevity of the tires is suspect. I had 5/10ths left and the grip had given up considerably. To the point where it would understeer completely mid turns. Any wet conditions and they slid all the time. Not even down to the wear bars, I thought I had another 5-10k miles on them, nope. It was like overnight they decided to stop giving me any grip in any conditions.
