i don’t think they should charge for this, I haven’t seen anyone complained about being charged for it

I just had this update done. No charge and fully covered under warranty, Audi referenced the TSB in the paperwork.

No. I took delivery in June 2018 (I think it was) and had version 11xx. I had the issue and qualified for the update. Maybe you meant before December and version 1316?

I recently took my car, which was built sometime in 2017, in for service and they said they couldn't fix the issue even when I referred to the TSB. I assumed if the MMI version was too old, it couldn't accommodate the fix.
It's completely possible they're just being obstructive so they don't have to spend time/resources so I'm just trying to figure this out.

A late update for everyone. I took the car into Audi Dallas down the street and they were aware of the TSB for this issue and updated the car with no problems. The correct parking view now defaults and I am in heaven. In addition, has anyone else noticed that with the update you now get 3D buildings on the Google Earth overlay? It looks absolutely fantastic on Virtual Cockpit.

Also, this is the only documented method to get an MMI update. Too bad that this issue does not exist in early B9 (mine is from March 2016 with sw 443). I have yet to find a TSB that is applicable to my VIN and includes an MMI sw update.

Finally got the update at the dealer, applied the TSB with no problems. MMI seems a bit snappier too. VERY THANKFUL that I don't have to manually toggle 360 camera view with each engine start!
