I know that carplay is far from perfect but stuff like the new 10.3 beta I just downloaded give me hope for it. Check out the new layout with app shortcuts.

Thanks for sharing that. Here's hoping that a future MMI firmware update will bring Apple Maps display to the Virtual Cockpit.

Does Spotify work any better with CarPlay and 10.3? A new update was released a couple days ago. I've moved to Apple Music.

ive never had issues with the Spotify carplay app. But they did update the Spotify app to be tabbed like Apple Music and a few stylistic tweaks

Really want Carplay or Android Auto to support Waze. How did you get a beta version? Is there any indications that is coming on the Apple front (i know waze is google owned)?

its supposed to be coming to android auto in the coming weeks but I would hold your breath for it coming to carplay anytime soon, if at all

Odd that a shortcut feature is needed for an interface with such a small number of available apps but it's progress.

When I first got CarPlay in my truck I really missed Waze... but Apple maps keeps getting better, at least from a traffic and re routing perspective. Really hope the shortcut feature does indicate that there are many more apps coming...
