You can also sign up for the Public Beta which is a bit easier (and those releases are generally more polished than the non-public betas. First iOS11 Public Beta is due later this month.

I know it's exciting and this definitely does work.

However, we should probably disclaimer this by reminding people that pre-release software is pre-release and not recommended for your daily driver iPhone. Do a full backup on your local PC/Mac via lightning cable in case something goes wrong, as restoring an iOS device back to previous iOS versions cannot be done via iCloud backups and the reset the phone is to return it to a blank version of your current beta.

Unless you have multiple phones, I would sit out the Beta program until at least Beta 4 and ever then your phone will continue to get Beta updates of future .1 releases which you probably don't want. Also: Apple does not service software-related issues on iPhone devices running beta software.

One last thing, iOS Betas are generally very stable. The same cannot be said for Android betas. If you are a Pixel or Nexus user, avoid Android pre-release software like the plague unless you are experimenting on your non-primary device.

I wasn't a member when iOS 10 came out, but I will definitely let people know my experience whenever I decide to upgrade. Apple has once or twice completely broken the iOS build upon release (iOS 8.0.1 comes to mind) causing users to have problems with their devices.

Anybody else having issues selecting messages through the home screen on the display with iOS 11?

That's not surprising. They're a quarter away from release. CarPlay is likely still under development. It's amazing anything works.
