Default Center Ceiling control lights failure

Audi A4 2018 the center ceiling controls (Headliner?) lights flicker or stay off. When off the interior lights (round ones you push) do not operator. The Sun Roof does operate when lights are off.

I tried a few fuses that I thought might be that, (Fuse 8 in the foot rest) none seem to be blown.

Any ideas of what it could be, the dealers in the area can not see the car for 19 days???

I had a similar issue of my 2017. The airbag indicator also would not illuminate. My overhead lights would also sometimes randomly come on at night and couldn't get them to turn off.

I took it to the dealership and they replace the entire module, nothing fuse related. Covered under warranty.

Do you use homelink? If so, are you experiencing any issues with it?

Will Try home link when the lights are out.

Update: Dealer is ordering a part / head unit. What is concerning is that
  1. They claim that the car diagnostics reports that the battery was dead (Never need to boost the car so not shure where this is from)
  2. The battery was at 70% charge when they started to look at it, this is after a 1 hour drive

Though they are replacing the unit (not sure of the part), the fact that the car’s diagnostics are reporting odd things is disturbing. Service consultant, could not get off of ‘the battery does not need to be replaced’ to hear that the Car never had a dead battery. They are going to recheck the ‘battery’ when they replace the part, which is fine, but, I think there is an issue with what is reporting, or charging the battery not the battery itself.

You might consider getting an OBDEleven to keep tabs on the codes your car might be throwing.
