Hi all, just picked up my new A4 and I'm struggling to figure out how to switch on the air con, it comes on automatically when the ignition is on but once the car has started up it turns of and I cannot put it back on? And help is greatly appreciated.

This is a North American car with the automatic climate control?

If yes, push the round temperature dial in, and it should display a black rectangleish below the temperature. That puts the climate control system on auto mode. At the lowest fan speed the system is very quiet.

Please note that like most (all?) automatic climate control systems from the last 20 years or so, the AC compressor is automagically turned on when the system feels like it, regardless of whether it's hot/cold outside, unless you manually turn it off.
