Headlight protection
I noticed a small chip yesterday on my driver's side headlight, and figured it might be a good idea to get some headlight protection film. Anybody have a recommendations? I would prefer to use film that is already cut to size, as opposed to a bulk roll that I would have to trim.
I've been looking at ClearMask, Lightguard, Weathertech LampGard, to name a few. I'm looking at a combination of reasonable price with ease of installation.

I had Lumar done on the full hood / partial fenders / headlights / mirrors/ rocker panels and trunk lid on back bumper. I noticed a nit in one of the headlights the other day and I am pretty sure without the film I'd be replacing the headlight as I could hear a pretty good smack from a rock. Not sure what just the headlights would cost but I would think maybe $100. I am no DIY person so I wouldn't even attempt it.

I had my car ceramic coated the other day and had them put PPF on the headlights and the door pillars (gloss black notorious for getting scratched up). I believe the stuff they used was 3M and it cost me $100 for the headlights and $100 for the pillars. Like StKnowhere said too should stop from clouding because there is usually UV protectants in the film. Definitely worth it though considering how expensive the headlight units likely are. I'd be afraid to price one out.

Those who have the headlight protection film installed - can you comment on how its holding up thus far? I am noticing quite a few nicks and road rash on my headlights and kicking around the idea of DIY'ing XPEL film on my headlights to "stop the bleeding". front bumper and partial hood are covered in PPF and I can't imagine what the front end would look like without it. The bottom lip of the gloss black grill is not PPF'ed and it has a ton of road rash.

Got 3M installed and it looks great. If you haven't already, I'd suggest getting more than just headlight protection but fender, hood, front, pillar, etc, I truly believe its worth it. In that case, I'd go for a company to install it which includes warranty.

XPEL on front, A pillars, side view mirrors and headlights. No pings or dings anywhere film was placed. Headlights look as new as when I bought the car - 2+ years.
