Default Headlight swap to Full LED

Is this possible in terms of is it plug and play? Would it need to be re-coded on vagcom as well?

Has anyone done this?

Any info guys??

It's not plug and play and a very expensive ($4k+) project.

I'm working with a forum member on this currently. He was going to purchase my previous full LED lights from me.

It is not plug and play. Coding is required. And since the LEDs use less power, you might need different relays/fuses.

I haven't fully mapped it out yet.

yeah, i was afraid of that. In the past, a lot of swaps on audi models just required a vag-com recode. In theory it could work on the B9, with a simple re-code, even given the lower wattage consumption of the LEDs, but i'm sure audi didnt make it so easy..

Keep us in the loop it will be interesting to see what it takes.

Another hurdle I forgot to mention is the control and power modules. No longer are there separate part numbers for specific functions. With MLBevo, control modules are parameterized based on intended functionality. Think of these new control modules like a formatted hard drive, awaiting software. Parameterization installs the software necessary to accomplish the functions based on the vehicle's configuration in SVM. It won't allow for cross-functionality.

Currently, parameterization for all B9 lighting modules can only be accomplished using ODIS at an authorized workshop. And you'll go into a loop, because SVM doesn't show your vehicle having LED lights.

@Widimagineer

Question, what about going from full LED in the US to the Matrix LEDs, would that be plug and play? I know they aren't legal in the US but just curious.

They also pay a LOT more for their A4s... especially if you wanted the 2.0 TFSI (which, mind you, if you were European, you probably wouldn't... you'd get the smallest diesel and a manual)

Hell, when I was looking at audi.fr, power seats were an option. That would never fly in North America...
