Heated side mirror summer time
 

Hi,
Does heated side mirror work for summer when temperature is higher?
I found these days turned-on heated mirror is not displayed on cockpit for Energy Consumer view.
Is there any sensor to turn on/off depending on the temperature?

The mirror only operates below a certain temperature.

I was wondering that the same thing. The past couple of weeks my mirrors were wet from the morning dew. I turned on the heaters to dry/clear them and I didn't think they were working. In my Acura, the mirrors would automatically heat if my rear defroster was on and it would clear them. I wish that was the case with Audi.

They are thermostatically controlled. There is a sensor in the mirror and once the temp is above the set point (set by some Audi engineer) the mirror heaters do not turn on.

The thing is even dealership was not able to answer this.

I've noticed its only able to turn on if its below around 65F outside. So on rainy spring or summer days, I would have to wipe the mirrors before heading out and when backing up into my narrow driveway..
