Default Icon of a green foot under MPH?

I just saw this for the first time. I assume it means that I'm currently not polluting, or something to that effect? Please let me know. Thanks

No, this is part of the predictive assistant. The computer knows that you are coming up to a stop or a lower speed limit and tells you to take the foot off the gas to start slowing down and save fuel.

Ahhh, interesting. It hasn't happened in my first 2 weeks of having the car until today.

How would the computer know I am coming up to a stop or lower speed? It was when I was going about 45 mph.

I've found that it works based on location, not necessarily speed. There is a small 2-lane highway I frequently drive on, and every time I approach a certain exit ramp, the green shoe icon appears. The funny thing is that as soon as I ease up on the gas, the outlined (vs. solid) green shoe immediately appears, signaling me that I have not reached the area where I should slow down.

Makes no sense to me! BTW, I started a thread on this issue back in May:

It seems fairly random. I am often driving over the speed limit and the nav knows the speed limit. Once in a while the green foot will come on but it's only happened to me a few time in three weeks.

I thought the green foot symbol meant that you were going above the speed limit and need to slow down. That's when mine comes on. Not when I need to come to a stop.

According to this site it means : Remove your foot from the accelerator pedal to slow down, because there is a situation ahead that requires a lower speed.

According to my owner's manual, when the solid shoe and arrow appear, you should "Remove your foot from the accelerator pedal to slow down because there is a situation ahead that requires a lower speed." When there is just an outline of a shoe, "Keep your foot on the accelerator pedal because the situation requiring a lower speed has not been reached yet."

This is crazy, because as soon as I remove my foot from the accelerator pedal, it tells me to put it back on again! lol

Good to know. I never go the speed limit, so I thought it was just telling me to slow down!
