Just installed my JB4. In my area we only have 87/89/93 octane. So I’ve always ran 93 anyway. So, I have my JB4 on map 2, The car is such a blast to drive now. I find it difficult to keep my foot out of it. Thank you for a great, and intuitive product!

Hey, I'n new to the JB4 and am looking to purchase one, but curious to know who to switch to for example map 2, and if i don't like it can i go back to map 1? Also one more question, would it be possible to run the JB4 aswell as a P3 Guage running at the same tim?

You can set the boost safety value to 5.4 and it will peak that. Based on logs we have done it will most likely be aggressive and I reckon on 93 or a E mix go 5.2 max.

With the data cable or Bluetooth module you can select the map you want to use and revert back any time.
You cannot run it at the same time as the P3 gauge as the data from the OBD becomes to slow and affects the JB4 functionality.

is there any boost guage that doesn't run through the OBD 2 port?

You can get boost gauges that work on actual boost pressure picked up from a boost tap on the manifold or you can opt to get the Bluetooth connect kit for the JB4 and display boost on the app.

Hi George,

So, last week I installed the JB4 in my 2018 A5/B9, for the 1st 5 days of driving ( about 150 miles) I took it easy for the car to get used to the new module. Since then I have noticed the following issue: When 1st driving out with the car properly warmed up, I have noticed "Hard shifting" around 25-29 mph, it felt like a manual transmission . Before I installed the JB4, I have never experienced this with the double clutch tranny which by the way is very smooth on all the gears. George do you know of anything that may cause this ? Thanks

Some adjustment is needed on driving style with the more power and the transmission to learn your intention as it uses logic to decide which gear to have pre selected. If its very hard I don't think its what is occurring. Chances are that the JB4 is not getting OBD signal and its running a safety map which is usually harsher as it tunes based on boost only so I would evaluate if at idle you are getting all the engine parameters.

Hi George, so do you believe the OBD cable may be loose ? Also is there a way to download log information from my JB4 to send to you to look at ?
