Default Under warranty service opinions ?

Dear Forum,

I’m approaching my first service (20k) after purchasing my previously own ‘18 A4 @14.5k several months ago. My local Audi dealership is offering the next 4 service for $1,100.

Should I prepay or do the services individually @ Audi or go aftermarket while it’s under warranty?

Appreciate all opinions ? BTW not a DIY person :+(.

Thanks in advance !

AudiCare lists for $999 on the Audi USA website. It covers the 20k, 30k, 40k, and 50k services. (The 40k service is the expensive one with the transmission fluid change.) If you don't hit the mileage, Audi recommends these services at 2 years, 3 years, etc.

I'm wondering why your dealer is asking $1100?

BTW, both times I've purchased AudiCare, I wasn't charged sales tax. YMMV.

It will save you money in the long run, if you keep the car. Assuming the dealer is talking Audi Care, and if you sell or trade the car, the future, paid for, services, go with the car.

Dealer sets final price.
But I would point out the recommended Audi price and ask about it. $1100 is only $101 over the recommended price - perhaps it includes some local tax?

The typical cost for the 20K-50K services is in the neighborhood of $2300, so if you're going to have the car serviced by the dealer, AudiCare seems to be a no-brainer. It also brings the price within a reasonable distance of independent repair shops, and removes the burden of finding one, figuring out if they're competent, etc.
