Was this screen shot taken before or after you did the map update? Trying to figure out if my Q7 (built in late March) needs an update already. Your version is the same as what is currently installed in mine.

Only the dealer can update the software and he will only do it if there is a TSB with a newer sw version that fixes an issue that the customer complains about. There are some who have updated the MMI and other interfaces on their from SD card but this is a risky and possibly expensive process.

My understanding has been that with MIB2 it is possible to get software updates over the air. Am I mistaken in this or is the quote above correct?
Also - the main page says that the Audi Connect service and your in-car wifi do not share the same subscription service. As far as I know and can tell with my car the in car Wi-Fi uses the Audi Connect service (provider).

A 2016 A6 has the MIB (1) MMI, the 2017 A4/Q7 has the MIB 2 MMI, different systems, different software, different features, not comparable.
The MIB 1 or 2 get map updates over the air (or via SD card) but not software updates. The MIB 1 MMI does not have an eSIM and AudiConnect was the "old style", meaning free (not licensed) and working as soon as a (any compatible) data SIM was inserted into the MMI head unit. The MIB2 MMI requires valid AudiConnect license for Google Earth, Search and the other services. So even with a personal data SIM services like Google Earth will not work without AudiConnect subscription in the MIB 2 MMI. The MIB 1 MMIN uses the same data SIM for AudiConnect and WiFi clients, the MIB 2 MMI uses the eSIM for Audi Connect and WiFi clients (unless the MMI has been recoded for use with a personal data SIM)

The 2016 A6 has the MIB2 hardware NOT the older MIB1.
Yes - I was saying that page one implied that the new MIB2 had separate AudiConnect and Wifi service when the new MIB2 has them both integrated together under one AudiConnect subscription.
