MMI OTA Maps Update
Since finding a solution to my MyAudi app issues outlined here, I have one remaining issue that started at the same time as my MyAudi app issues and is still unresolved.
Previously, I was able to update my maps via the MMI OTA Maps update process. Since my issues with the MyAudi app (now resolved), I’ve been unable to perform an OTA map update. When I start the 2019/2020 region/state update, it changes to downloading and then it sits and does nothing. I’ve let it sit for several hours and nothing. I’ve tried a half dozen times over the last two weeks and get the same behavior. Anyone else seeing this? Will call support tomorrow to see what they say. |
Me again lol same thing happened to me. It would stop updating every time at around 53%. I ended up downloading the map/mmi update from the myAudi site onto an SD card and installed from there. Worked perfectly.

SD card update, if available, seems to be a much easier, faster, less-error-prone method. Can you try that way? Several hours, half a dozen times, is crazy.

Online update stuck at 40%, myAudi website only allows me to download version 2019 instead of 2019/2020.

For whatever reason, the 2019/2020 are listed as available for download OTA. I was able the download 1/3 for Illinois (before these issues started) but can’t download 2/3 and 3/3. |
I have the same problem for the OTA map for California. It’s 2 parts, the first downloads fine but the second part freezes.

Since Audi prides itself on its technology it is not reassuring that such an error persists. |
I have a case open with the Audi Connect team regarding the MMI OTA Map update issues many of us are having.
Will post statuses as I get them. |
So if it says "You can buy up-to-date maps from your Audi partner." next to the Version 2019, does that mean my 5 updates are up? I downloaded an update just after I purchased the car (used) in Feb/March - would 2019 have been out then, or did I likely download 2018/2019.
(Frankly, I've used it once or twice and then use Google Maps via CarPlay, so no big deal) (side note - how do I know the manufacturing date that starts the 2.5 years? It's not on the pdf version of the sticker that I received. Is it this, from the door jamb - 04/2016? https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...a886cfd8d0.jpg ) |
