MMI OTA Maps Update

As an example, I purchased my car in April 2019 and it shipped with the 2018/2019 maps. Because of this, I’m able to download the two 2019 updates, the two 2020 updates and the first 2021 update and then I’m done. If I want the second 2021 update, I must pay.
On the flip side, if I skip these updates and attempt to download the first 2022 update, I’m out of luck according to their current policy because the first five updates of the maps that shipped with my car is what I was entitled to and nothing else.

Hi folks!
Just received a call from Audi Connect support to provide a status regarding the MMI maps update issues many of us are having.
They have have a lead but wouldn’t share the details and said I should hear back within a day or two.

2019/2020 OTA - Contact Audi
So, I too am having the issue where the 2019/2020 OTA update using Audi Connect gets stuck and will not complete the download. I encourage anyone having the issue to contact Audi and open a case and get and track their case number. You can reach them at AudiCustomerExperienceCenter@audi.com or at AudiTalk@audi.com or by calling 877-505-2834 (option # 2). For me, the issue is with California and Nevada (one region). I had no issue downloading (as a test) various states in the southeast.

I would encourage everyone having this issue to either call and open a case or email (use both addresses) with as specific details as you can provide. If you can include pictures with dates and times, that helps them pull those logs on the backend servers.
jpneus and I have been messaging back and forth regarding our cases and we may be close to a solution and are waiting on word back from Audi but in the mean time, get those cases open!

Just an FYI, just got this response from Audi regarding this issue:
"I wanted to follow up with you and let you know that we are currently experiencing and outage with map updates. We have a master ticket open for this and you will be contacted once this is resolved."

Yes, a number of us have cases open that have our VIN's as part of this master ticket. A team in Germany is working the case and has been for more than a month now. So far, no luck but some of us have been getting weekly updates from Audi Connect support regarding this issue.

I’ve been able to finally download and install the two final 2020/2019 maps updates for Illinois OTA.
