Default New to Audi

A month ago I found the car I was looking for, a 2018 Moonlight Blue Prestige that was enroute to my local dealer from Germany so I put down a deposit. It arrived yesterday morning so I picked her up in the evening. Did all the negotiating a month ago so I was in and out in about 45 minutes. I'm coming from a 2014 335i M-Sport so this is quite the change but I'm liking it so far. Sorry for the ****ty pictures, I'll try to get better ones in the upcoming days.

I don't have any photos of the interior yet but it's got the brown interior with dark wood trim.

How are you finding performance compared to your 335i?

I had ordered my 335i with the M Performance Package so it bumped power to about 335 HP and 330 ft-lb or torque so it's definitely noticeable. It also had the M Performance Exhaust so from a driving perspective, the BMW was much more fun to drive but I rarely had the opportunity to really use that power. I had briefly contemplated getting an S4 which had very similar driving dynamics but I just couldn't justify spending the extra $10k or so or a comparably equipped A4 which already did 98% of what I wanted it to do.

The A4, while not nearly as fast, is more than adequate to do what I need it to do, it can merge and pass with ease and has just enough power for everyday use on public roads so I'm very happy with it. It's also quite comfortable and I love the interior. I've always loved the minimalist approach of BMW interiors but the quality of the Audi and the tech is just really cool.

I suspect that you will prefer the Audi to the BMW once the bad weather arrives. Nothing like Quattro in the snow!

I actually quite liked driving my F30 in the snow, solid set of Blizzaks and it was a good time getting it tail happy since it was RWD.

That said, I am looking forward to trying out Quattro in the elements, never had an AWD car before. Since it's AWD, I won't have to worry about swapping between summer and winter tires like I did with the F30, sticking to the factory all seasons for now. DC doesn't get that much snow so that should be sufficient (hopefully).

The factory AS tires should do pretty well during the winter. While they are not the best solution they do work. My wife has used her A3 all year round with the factory AS ans has had no problems even in some pretty deep snow.

Congrats. Leased my A4 over the summer so this will be my first winter as well but not my first AWD car. My last vehicle was a Lexus RX350 Fsport, and that was "okay" in the snow. Before that I had two Infiniti's - the G35XS and the FX35, both of those were animals in the snow... the A4 should be even better but even if just on par with the Infiniti's I will be quite happy.. And my A4 is manual shift so should be that much better.. BTW, I'm on Long Island, NY and have never used anything other than OEM all season tires.
