Default oil leak on the head seams?

17 A4 Quattro Premium 16k miles. See traces of oil residue around the head where the seam is on the exhaust side. Parts 3 in this diagram

Here are the pics

Anyone else have this? Cosmoline? Also scheduling a trip to the dealers to diagnose along with finding a bad wheel bearing. Will post back more info.

Mines had oil trace at the same place. Asked dealer to check it out while in for the speaker trim recall. Of course was told normal. I sprayed some cab cleaner and wiped it off. Haven’t seen any significant oil residual in about a year now.

Dealer service claim this leak is from spilled oil during oil change. Given the filler hole is all the way in front of the engine while the oil residue runs along the entire length of the seam on the passenger side, this seems highly unlikely. Looks like it was an issue on some of the B8s as well.

Clean it with Cab/throttle cleaner and see if it comes back. If comes back, take it in again and tell them to fix it.

Default Dealer service replaced PCV

Took the car in again for 20k and asked them to look at the leaking seal again. This time they concluded it was a failed PCV valve which make sense. Read another post (can't remember if B8 or B9 but PCV system pretty much identical) had similar problem and fixed with PCV replacement. Surprised failure at < 20k miles but these PCVs are quite problematic.

Will monitor to confirm its fixed.

Good to know. Thank you for the update!
Mines hasn't show any seepage on the location since last year I cleaned with Cab/throttle cleaner.
