Parking brake and engine stop

re: Start / stop of engine
AC will also make a difference.
I drove to work today. 25 minutes of engine and AC (welcome to California). Stopped at lights near work and engine still didn't stop. Turned off AC, and it stopped.
In my BMW it would be less 'fussy' and keep the AC running for a few minutes, and then kick the engine back in. Perhaps the Audi has different tolerances?

Here, we're discussing why the parking brake doesn't always set when we shut down the engine.

Can you please fix it ?

My car behaves as Cathus describes. At one time I thought pressing the brake harder while pushing start/stop worked to engage the park brake, but it still sometimes won't.

If it still doesn't work, the title is "New 2017 A4 - Start/Stop Never Happens" and the last entry was on 6/18/2017.

Thank you everybody for participating in the thread.
These days, I have used the car frequently but can't find a pattern in the result.
One time, I push hard on the brake and it stop, next time it does not...
One time I release the seat belt before stopping and it works, next time it does not...
I am not giving up. This is what I consider an important feature of safety and I want to use it !
I will keep until until something turns up. I will ask the users, the seller and ...
I have been to a Portuguese Audi's forum but the answers were inconclusive.
Have a nice week end, all of you !
