Break the mold with AirGate™ for the B9 A4:
The AirGate™ Carbon Intake for the Audi B9 A4: The AirGate™ Carbon Intake allows options for those seeking more volume from their intake when under boost. Want to hear more turbo inductions sounds from within the cabin? Go lidless. Prefer to keep it a bit more stealthy? Simply bolt the AirGate™ lid in place with a few turns of two easily-accessible hex screws. Constructed of genuine 2x2 carbon fiber with a UV-stabilized resin and clear coat, the AirGate™ Carbon Intake mounts securely to the stock location and integrates with the factory ducting perfectly via the AirGate’s floating airbox inlet. https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...a5_lid_3_1.png https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...a4a5_lid_2.png https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...ar_nolid_3.png https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...ncar_lid_3.png The S-FLO Filter: The included AWE S-FLO Filter is designed specifically for this air box to be easily serviceable and to maximize airflow. This increase in airflow unlocked maximum gains of 12 hp and 9 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels. The combination of carbon fiber airbox and included S-FLO Filter makes for a more aggressive intake note, with an intoxicating turbo spool sound. https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...a5_nolid_1.png https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...a4a5_lid_7.png Upgrading options: The AirGate™ Carbon Intake can be purchased with or without the AirGate Lid. If you want to add the lid later, no problem. https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...a4a5_lid_6.png What’s in the box?: AirGate™ Carbon Intake, carbon lid (if chosen), S-FLO Filter, and all necessary hardware. https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...a4a5_lid_1.png Data: http://www.awe-tuning.com/media/dyno...9A4AGWHEEL.jpg |

I absolutely love mine!
The sound is what I would call OEM+. If you are looking to track your car and want to HEAR all the noise all the time this might not be the intake for you. Windows up, lounging around town it is virtually stock. When it is time to have some fun, crack a window mat the throttle and you get all the recirculation valve noises, boost wooshes and intake growel you need. Also if you live in hot climates the door is a nice addition. It doesn't completely block air from the hot engine bay, but will definitely pull more from the grille with it shut. I have yet to get some actual numbers to back up my claim but it just hit summer temps here and I'm willing to bet it will help. The best way to describe it is this... Quiet enough to not have your significant other, mother or grandmother complain about how you are ruining your nice luxury car... But still makes all the right noises when it is time to have some fun. Oh, and who doesn't love all the carbon fiber goodness?? https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Pers...3329-01-XL.jpg |

Has anyone purchased and installed this intake. If so, what are your thoughts? Why is it labeled for racing only on some websites?

Even with the AirGate lid in place, the intake does not transform into a "sealed configuration," because there is an open grill on the lid.
If we were to not include the grated area on the lid, it would be technically blocking a secondary air path behind the headlight. With that in consideration, it would be "sealed." I have changed it to prevent further confusion. |
Josh, can you provide a link to the piggyback for a 2019 RS5? I would like to research the whole setup. Thanks.
