Radar. When I first had the car I was very confused by the system so I went to a local Toyota dealer and they explained to me what was going on. You can only engage cruise with the radar control stepping in. In fact, when you hit the cruise Icon a message pops up saying something like radar activated. Every time the system intercede and slowed an odd graphic with multiple line appeared and blocked the mpg and other info until I cleared the graphic. I did not like it - too much of my time not looking at the road.
