Default Replacing B9 cabin air filter

I didn't see too much info out there for these but for those interested. FYI, it's the most unnecessarily complex air filter replacement I've ever seen, prepare to call chiropractor afterwards.
1. In footwell of passenger side, remove the felt liner in the rear held by 2 pull out clips
2. remove air filter cover that is held clipped in place by 6 clips. It is no longer straight cover that slides to the right. Now is a boomerang shaped with 6 clips..
3. be careful of the last corner clip, it is near impossible to reach and I had a lot of difficulty with it. Can easily break with force
4. remove old filter, insert new filter, make sure arrow air flow is correct. Tip: prebend the air filter so it's curved, it'll make it much easier to install because there's no room to do it with 2 hands
5. put cover back on make sure you close the clips otherwise the air flow will leak out

It's pure insanity they designed it so difficult for no reason. I bought an eco gard filter and the instructions are completely useless. The OEM filter is much higher quality but also bends much easier.

completely useless

corner clip top right very difficult to reach

Thanks for posting this for the community! I remember when I changed the one in my e36 M3, I was laying on the bottom passenger seat cushion, and my legs were over the back of the seat while I was under the dash trying to do that cabin filter. All German cars are pretty much in the same location.

I had back problems after changing this one too. You would think putting it in the glove compartment would be logical, but why would German engineering make things easier

I dont know why, but for some reason I thought audi had changed things with the MBQ platform and put the cabin filter under the hood on the passenger side. Hmmm...

Lexus has the filter in the glove compartment, enabling me to change it in around two minutes in my mother's car. It would be nice if Audi would place the filter in a location that did not result in rug burns on one's elbow. Unfortunately, it appears that Audi took a step back and made it even more difficult to access in the B9.

Isnt this like a 50k mile change? Typically this is done under warranty during one of the services. Why bother changing it so early?
