A4 and A6 Reliability

A4 and A6 Reliability
In need of a daily driver and looking at a 2007 A4 2.0T with 127,000 on it. The car looks to be in very nice shape. He lists these as the issues:
Coolant leakage: slight coolant leakage
Here are the other issues
- broken exhaust pipe on the left
- broken glove box hinge
- hood holder rod needs replacement
He's asking 3,000. Does it sound like a good deal?
Also looking at an 2003 A6 2.7T Quattro. According to seller, no issues with it. 130,000 miles on it. Asking 2,900.
Which should I go after if either? I'm leaning toward the A4 just cause it looks very nice but wondering about that coolant leak issue. He hasn't gotten back to me about where it is yet. Probably go look at both today. Looking for opinions on both.

2018A4Prestige provides sage advice. If you want lower risk and you need transportation, $3000 spent on a Toyota Camry will probably bring higher value. If you have $3000 to burn and don't need this for transportation, just flip a coin.
Coolant leakage. That could be a really expensive repair if it is something like a failed head gasket. If you have to pay an Audi dealer to replace the head gasket you might be doubling the purchase price of the car. You could arrange for a pre purchase inspection and have a coolant pressure test done on the cooling system as well as a check for combustion products in the coolant. The problem could also be really simple like a hose leaking. Carrying out a a compression test would also be a good indicator of general engine condition.
PPIs cost money. To paraphrase "You pays yer money 'or' you takes your chances".

As a final note, you would probably be better off posting the question in the appropriate forum. The B9 forum is 2017 model year and later.
