Shaky idle?
I just bought a 2018 A4 Quattro with 5k miles, Certified Pre Owned. This is my first Audi and I'm not sure what's normal. I've read a few other threads but haven't quite figured out if this is normal or not.
I noticed when I'm idling sometimes, especially in park, the idle is mostly smooth but there are a few occasional feelings like shudders or bumps. They're very minor feeling but noticable enough to make me question it. I was driving for about 15 minutes and then stopped in a parking lot with the car in park which is when I noticed it.
Thanks

I've owned 3 A4s - B7, B8, and now B9. They all do that. I've had it checked on each. "Normal." Some guys say it's due to direct injection. Others say timing. Others say compression. Others says cam chain design. Only an Audi engine designer/engineer would be able to provide the exact cause.
Doesn't detract from its annoyance, though.... I hear ya

When I first bought my 2017 A4, it was happening to me too. So much so I brought it into the dealership.Forgetting the exact "reason" they gave, but said it is perfectly normal.
