spacers and lug bolts

hey guys

im planning on selling my RS rims that are 40ET and picking up a set of RS4 style OEM rims which are 43ET. i want the ET to stay at 40ET for the winter and have purchased 3mm spacers. Do i need to get extended lugs? if so which ones.

any help would be appreciated

3mm dont need extended lugs, but keep in mind that the new a4's hub lip has 2 different ODs, I've had issues with my 5mm, it is hubcentric but since the inner OD of the hub lip is less than 66.6, I couldn't center it and it was giving me vibrations, ended up going 10mm. you can do 10mm and be at ET33 and it'll still be fine, that's where I'm at now and its not even flush yet

Explains why I’m using my 5mm spacers as coffee mug coasters

What is OD? And how can I see if my 3mm spacers will be an issue?

Its for my winters and I don't want my rims popping out much

OD is Outside diameter I believe.

And I had 5mm spacers on mine but had to take them off because no matter what, they wouldn't stop vibrating. I bought them from ECS and tried different methods to install them. None of the methods worked and I ended up taking them off. These were hub centric but yeah.

OD is outer diameter, I can almost guarantee you that 3mm will vibrate, however i know that runs 3mm and no issues apparently so not sure, but I've tried 5mm before and figured out the problem!

I currently have the ECS wheel flush kit on my A4 that are 10mm front and 12mm rear. They are hub centric and I don't have and vibration issues with mine.

Can u post a pic of your car to show how flush they are? Vibrations are an issue with 5mm or less. You have to be very lucky to run low thickness spacers and have no vibrations.

These are with Emmanuelle design lowering springs with the 1.5" drop. this is right after installation though, so the springs hadn't settled yet. I would say the car sits probably another .5" lower than these pictures now.

That looks really nice. Me likey. If I plan on keeping my A4 long term I’ll get the spacer kit.
