Default Will these fit my car ?

Hi

I have an Audi A4 2.0 TDI quatro from 2016
I am considering following rims for my car:
DEZENT TZ graphite anthracite polished 7.5J x 17 ET 40 with 225/50 R17 98 V tires

But when i look at AEZ's configurator, there are no green thumb-up for the ET40, only for the ET38 and 42, is this due to the rims and tires wont fit my car ? I can't order them in ET38 with Continental WinterContact-TS-860 as i plan. But the dealers website will allow me to order them with ET40.
I can also order with an Offset of 35, is that better than the 40 ?

You should be searching audiworld for the B8.5 or B8 A4, not B9.

Because no one in B9 forum have talked about 17” rims on a B9 with winter tires ? Or because there are a lot of threads there ? 😊.

No, because you said you own a 2016 A4, which is a B8.5 A4, and this forum is reserved for the B9 A4 which is a completely different, completely redesigned car with a 100% different chassis/brakes/suspension/control arms/etc for which wheel fitment options are therefore also different.

Not to my knowledge B9 is 2015+ here in Europe.Fifth generation (B9/8W)OverviewProduction2015–present[54]
Model years2016–present

Anyway. I got Matrix LED, that you can’t get on a B8.5

Gotcha, my apologies. This is an overwhelmingly North American forum; we got the B9 in 2017. Should have known better when I saw the Avant in the configurator screenshot. Sorry for the confusion, carry on.

Now as for your question:

If an ET38 is known to work and an ET42 is also known to work, then it stands to reason that an ET40 of the exact same wheel should also work. However it is probably to your benefit to call/email AEZ directly and ask them to confirm before you order because returning wheels that don't fit is a nightmare of a hassle that nobody wants to deal with.

If the wheel model is different, all bets are off. Often the spoke angle, shape, etc of differnet wheel designs will differ in such a way that a given offset of one wheel will work perfectly fine on Model A but the brake calipers will interfere on Model B, even if the listed wheel size is otherwise identical. Always good to call and ask or see a local wheel dealer for a test fit.

Found this nice tool to calculate and show the difference:
https://tiresize.com/wheel-offset-calculator/

Looks like i can go with ET35 and ET40 without any issues.
ET40 it will be i think. ET35 will fit but move the center a bit away from the original center. Not sure how much negative impact it will have in the handling or tire wear.
