There is absolutely no way 18" tires can be mounted on 19" wheels. Any company that tells you they can is to be avoided. This is a non-arguable fact. Call Tire Rack if you don't believe the folks on this board.
What the nerd at COSTCO is probably seeing is the fact that 19" is optional on your car. In that sense the B9 A4 can take either 18" or 19". So much mis-information out there!

Are you sure you have 19" rims and not 18"?
Yes, mine is B9 A4 with S line and 19 wheels (optional package)
Infact i shown him the audi app where under the optional equipment section the details are mentioned...

I am very much trusting the source here because I am sure the comments are coming from your experience. Infact, Iam not convinced by whatever Costco said, thats the reason i started this discussion...

Did he look at the car?

I know my tire shop sent a fellow to their parking lot to look at all four tires and confirm that I had indeed correctly given them the stock tire size and that they weren't some crazy staggered setup before they actually drew up a quote...

If lacking any knowledge or experience with wheels and tyres (and there is nothing wrong with that, they bore most people), it may be better to go to a tyre specialist that actually know what they are doing, even if it costs a few dollars more.

Im also located in Toronto - last winter I picked up 225/50/17 Blizzak LM-32 with some black rims. Like what others have said Toronto usually gets cleared up relatively fast.
I think you should go to a tire specialist too, not saying you shouldn't trust Costco but doesn't hurt to ask around
Went with 17s b/c they were cheaper than 18s.

Perhaps the quote the OP got from Costco included a set of black/cheap steel rims in the 18" size. I see you got 17" steel rims - got me thinking.

My winter set didn't come with steel rims...I def would not go for steel b/c they don't look good imo

My error. I saw "black" and filled it in with "black steel" as many owners use these for winter tires. My point was that the OP had a $1,200+ quote for 18" winter tires mounted on his/her 19" wheels - don't work. So, maybe that price includes a set of 18" wheels - cheap ones I assume given the amount of the quote.

TireRack has a 17" tire/wheel package for about $1120.
