Default Xpel Ultimate/Opticoat Pro

I called the local installer and got a price for my new A4. This seems high but wanted your thoughts

Full front end is 1899(full Hood, Full Front Fenders, Bumper, Mirrors & Headlights), 150 a pillars, 80 rear impact area, 30 wheel opening kit.
Partial front end is 950(art hood, part front fenders, bumper, Mirrors) + 80 for lights. Asked about the area on roof before sunroof and I missed that price.

Opticoat Pro is 899, with a 2nd coat is 1199 and Opticoat Pro Plus is 1399.

Must admit that I am overwhelmed with the options and not sure what makes sense.

Sounds in the ballpark. Maybe slightly high on the full front compared to what I've seen, but not by much.

Not sure how Opticoat compares to Ceramic Pro 9H overall, but if it's equivalent, then those prices are comparable to what I'm seeing.

You can just do parts of the car you need it most. I just got my headlights and front bumper done since I do not do a lot of driving.

Not sure where you are located, but for me in Texas, I am in the same boat and just spoke with an installer, here is what I am getting quoted:

1st Installer - Xpel & Opti-Coat
Xpel - $1,150, Full Front (full Hood, Full Front Fenders, Bumper, Mirrors & Headlights)
Opti-Coat Pro Plus - $1,200

2nd Installer - Suntek & CQuartz
Suntek - $1,650, full front (full Hood, Full Front Fenders, Bumper, Mirrors & Headlights) using regular kits, or $2,050 for customer wrap which includes wrapping edges, + $150 A Pillars
CQ Classic - $1,095 - will probably need to be redone every 2 years
CQ Pro - $1,500 - will probably need to be redone every 3 years
CQ Finest Reserve - Starts at $2,500 - is supposed to last 3-10 years, but new formula is relatively new (came out in Jan 2017), so no longevity data yet

3rd Install - Audi Dealer
Xpel - $1,950, full front

So, again, not sure which are you are in, but those prices for my area seem high.

I am in Michigan. We don't have many options for either Xpel or Opticoat.

How critical is it to do the A Pillars, area on roof before windshield, rear impact area and wheel opening?

I'd say out of all those areas your A-Pillars are at higher risk because it's exposed to the road in front of you where most damage comes from. I think A-pillars cost me $40 or so more to my full front package so it was worth it. I didn't do wheel well.

I personally had full hood, full bumper, headlights, A-pillars, partial fender, and the glowing door sills for driver and passenger (I imagine with rocks from shoes and stuff those get scratched up pretty well). They did on my 2012 A4. So that was like $10.

Is everyone getting computer cut or custom? I was told that the custom adds about 40% to the cost.

Mine was custom. Watched him do it. He cuts it with a razor blade. He's VERY good!

How has the Xpel on the door sills holding up?
