sorry guys..

if it makes you feel any better, i laughed my ass off at work.

i really do want an S4 cab, but, i just filled up today at $2.55 - over $40 dollars. The S4 gets like 13mpg city on paper - which means i would be getting 8mpg. How about insurance?? im happy with my little four-banger - i really want the S4 more for the 6-speed than the engine.

if you guys doubt your little four-bangers - come test drive the Greedspeed Avant and get that perma-smile i have.

$ 40!!

I filled up on Saturday at a "cheap" supermarket petrol station and it came to €64 - $76 and my tank wasn't even fully empty. A while later I passed another station in the centre of Paris and it was € 0.25 a litre more expensive (€17.50 difference for a full tank!) . We are definitely ripped off in france. I was in Austria last week and 98 was about 15-20% less than the cheapest French prices!!

Re: sorry guys..What is your MPG?

What mileage does the 1.8 get ( I'm assuming that is what you have since you mentioned 4 banger).

I drive pretty tamely--except on I-5 to Southern California wher the aveage speed is 90. In my 3.0 CVT I get an average of 26 mpg at 90 mph.
In the city I get 18. I'm curious as to what the quattro 3.0 gets and the 1.8T.

Since gas has hit 2.70 here for premium, I've decided to abandon the S4 purchase--oh yeah , that $60,000 price has something to do with it as well

Re: sorry guys..What is your MPG?

Mine is a 2.4 CVT and nearly all my driving is on the motorway, I get 27mpg at a steady 90mph and about 18mpg around town.

Cheers, Mark

Re: $ 40!!

dont worry - im moving to Europe on May 6th for 6 months, so i'll be paying the big Euros for gas. Luckily my Renault Laguna (with its 80hp) gets good gas milage.
i do wish i bought a Clio diesel instead. Maybe i'll trade it in.
