Audi A4 Cabriolet B6 Crash ECU location (warning light issue)
Hi there,
This is my first post so I appreciate any help on this matter.
I have been having issues with my A4 B6 Cabriolet with regards to the airbag warning light.
I had 4 errors that have come up, two of which have since been fixed which was down to a possible faulty front crash sensor. Thankfully I didn't have to hard wire anything under the seats. (it was a drivers side sensor that was faulty)
No the remaining faults are down to a mis-match on the crash ECU unit. Basically the previous owner replaced the ECU thinking it was faulty and didn't know he had to re-sync it with the codes etc. HOWEVER!! I have the original ECU unit. Is there someone that can tell me where it is and how to get to it.
I will be helped by a friend to re-install it. Failing that, I might take it to an audi engineer and get him to reprogram the new ECU with using the VIN numbers from the old one.... but I'm thinking it might be cheaper to put in the old one and hope that it wasn't faulty in the first place... I don't think it was.
Hope its as clear as mud. Cheers

I've got exactly the same question.
I've got the old ECU, replaced for exactly the same reason. I just need to know where abouts in the car the Crash ECU is. Is it under then handbrake?
Anyone know how much of a pig of a job this is?
