Can halogen the headlight housing be modified for xenon?
Hi Guys,
Basically I have an A4 Quattro Ultrasport that I picked up and the right side headlight housing brackets are all broken off. The car has xenon lights, the headlights are almost new. I was thinking of grabbing a halogen light and putting my xenon hardware in it as well as cut/swap/re-glue the front lens. Just curious if anyone here has tried this.

So.... since nobody answered (or cared) I found out for myself. Mostly the answer is yes the parts can cross over but the ballast hole needs to be cut out in the halogen model. It can still be mounted but it will take some dremel work. Also the autolevelling motor isn't present in halogen models so take note of that. The main lens otherwise is sealed on the case and would need to be cut/glued to fit, lots of work. But in essence yes it can be done but its just a big pain. I wish someone cast the plastic lens out of glass... I hate plastic lenses.
