Convertible top hoses
Hi all,
The convertible top on my wife's '04 Audi A4 1.8T isn't working anymore. We bought the car a few months ago and the top used to work with a little manual help.
When I took it apart to find what the problem was I found that at least one of the hydraulic hoses going from the pump to the top had a hole in it; it had been wrapped in electrical tape but it was still leaking fluid and the reservoir was now below the min line.
The dealership quote for the repair was very expensive due to labor. My question to you readers is how difficult would it be to replace the hose myself? Are there any other fixes you can think of for the leak? Thanks!
I thought of duct taping it however I'm not sure what kind of PSI it would have to hold up to and I was advised against it Maybe some +5500 PSI epoxy would work better?
The link below is a picture of the trunk showing the pump and the problem hose area
