Coolant question.... '06 w/3.0L

Coolant question.... '06 w/3.0L
New member 1st post.... hello
* Bought a '06 Cabriolet last week, 77K, runs great, looks good.Upon checking the coolant level (which was full) noticed the color of the fluid was brownish. Book says never change coolant, just add G12+ when needed. I don't think brown is a good color for coolant.
* Right rear back up bulb not working, according to display. I replaced with new 7506LL and still not working (two new bulbs were used). Both are bad??? or something else is going on.
Any advise on these questions would be appreciated. Maybe someone out there has dealt with similar issues. Thanks
