Need to replace CCM in '05 A4 Convertible

Need to replace CCM in '05 A4 Convertible
After a bad rainstorm last weekend, I found standing water under the driver's side carpet of my convertible. Resulting symptoms:
Driver's door:
- window controls dead
- trunk release dead
- key fob dead (no signal to vehicle)
- side-view mirror controls -- ok
-lock / unlock button on door -- ok
- dome lights dead
Other previous forum posts have noted that it's most likely the CCM, which I tend to agree with since it was in standing water when I pulled the carpet up.
My question -- the dealer gave me a CCM part number after I gave him my VIN... $700! But when I go on eBay, Amazon, etc. I find similar but not exact part numbers for same model / year for around $80 - $100.
Someone please tell me I can buy the $100 part and it will function...
And why is one $100 and the other $700???
