Rear deck lid won't close!
Hi all,
I had some kind of malfunction with the soft top on my '04 S4 cabriolet -- it's a B6 so I presume the same as an A4. When putting the top up the other day, the deck lid stayed open for some reason. The top was fully closed, but the rear deck was still pointing straight up, when it should have closed under the back of the top and locked shut. But the car thought the deck closed and the latches locked. Now, I can't close the deck lid because the little bars, which are supposed to lock and hold the deck lid down, are in the way. Does anyone know if there's a way to make those latches release, so I can close the deck and try to reset the top? It might be that I have a bad sensor or something that a reset won't fix, but I'd like to try before I hand over my life savings to the dealer. Thanks in advance! Mike |
