I've been exploring my options for a "new" car. I'm trying to find something reasonablely fun, fairly affordable to purchase and run and reliable enough to be my main car.

The A4 is seeming like a good choice - I've always wanted a convertible - But I have some questions if you don't mind.

- I live in Alberta so put up with cold icy winters. Is there enough insulation in the top to keep me warm at -40?

- As unfortunately the top will likely be up more than down any problems with excessive cabin noise? Blind spots?

I'll likely be buying one 5-10 years old and with 100,00km or so. Any specific years to avoid? How high can I push the KM before loosing too much reliability?

I'm not sure if I'll have any engine choices. If so any suggestions?

Are brighter head lights, Remote start, Heated seats/stearing wheel, Options?

Anything else I should know?

Was also wanting to know if it is any more difficult to do basic maintenance brakes, shocks, alternator, oil change etc yourself on an A4 than other cars? I'm handy but only to a point.
