When I first saw the subject/title of this thread I thought the question related to our age/years on the planet. At 74 in a few months I feel like 100+ every now and then, but overall still hanging in and still have many original parts. lol

My two biggest worries as a new (/15 A6 3.0T) owner coming over from Acura ownership (read: largely trouble-free in 9 years and 140,000 miles and still running like a car with 50,000 miles) are (i) carbon buildup and (ii) oil consumption. I'm sure it is too early to know if 2015s are suffering from either of these two issues but if anyone with the earlier model years of the 3.0T cars has either of these two issues would be interested to know about that. Here's hoping both of these issues are rare on the 3.0T engines but from what I am reading on line sounds like the 3.0T does have some carbon buildup issues.

Well, I don't know about the carbon buildup as I just haven't had the need to pull the SC off and have a look, but since the dealer did it to replace the fuel rail recall and didn't mention anything about it, I'm taking that as a sign for right now.

Oil consumption I feel as more to do with your driving habits. I experience very little oil consumption and I feel thats because I do very little in town driving. Over 10k miles I don't think I burn 1/4 of a quart, maybe half a quart at most. So I can't complain a single bit about the engine so far. The rest of the car is holding up very well. Some small rattles here & there, but I expect it for all the road it's traveled.

I have just about 60K miles on my2012 A6 and it is still running great. No oil usage at all!!!! Did have the driveshaft and thermostat replaced under warranty. Have had a few TSB done as well. Have tracked the car more than a dozen times and have been on several long trips. So, considering the car has been driven hard when on the track with occasional spirited driving off the track it is holding up extremely well.

That's good to hear. I'd like to think that the little bit of oil that my car uses is because I do catch afternoon traffic after work and have about 15 miles of stop and go.

So far though, no complaints, just changed the oil again and now looking into what I need to service the trans. Lifetime fluid is a nice marketing term, but as I approach 150k miles, I'm just going to count on the fluid needing to be changed and possibly a filter.

I have about 45k miles and about to have the last warranty service done! what do services run after the warranty runs out? Also, are there any websites where I can find good indy shops around my area? I'm in Fort Worth, TX and only know a guy that does BMW (what I've owned before my A6).

Thanks all!
