'14 A6 TDI - 4k miles by the numbers

All I can say is really, WOW! Here's the numbers breakdown -

MPG At Pump - 33.05 MPG
Last tank, at pump - 37.16 MPG
Best indicated - 51.9 MPG
Lowest indicated - 27.9 MPG
Cost/mile - .09 to .11 (Comparison to wifes GMC Acadia at .18/mile)
Avg/Gal - $3.683
710 miles per tank indicated

We just took a trip to Tucson, AZ for a funeral and even with a headwind, my wife, 4 month old and all of our luggage, we still averaged 33 MPG at the pump with ACC set for 85 MPH. The return leg was slightly better with a tailwind at 37 MPG at pump, and ACC at 80.

Overall, I'm extremely impressed with the TDI. Gutsy motor that can plod around all day returning 37+ MPG, while still delivering exceptional performance. Still debating APR's software, will likely do it after 10k miles or so. 5k service is book soon as well and I expect the numbers to continue up!

Bottom line, get one. Promise you will not be disappointed!!

So I'm a little farther down the line (at 18400 miles) than you, having gotten mine in September 2013 (yep...I drive a lot). My calculated MPG since delivery is 30.95, and this reflects an almost perfect 50/50 mix of urban bumper to bumper and interstate (with Adaptive cruise set at 78mph). Best tank has been 34.2mpg and worst has been 25.33mpg. Interestingly enough, several weeks ago I drove to North Carolina for Quattro de Mayo, a series of "interesting" drives through the mountains as arranged by the local Audi clubs. I was running very competitively with several TT, TTS and TTRS models, plus an S7 and new Corvette (the sport suspension and huge low end torque was perfect for the very twisty roads, even though my car was much larger then most) and averaged 31.75mpg. While most cars needed to be refueled at the end of each day, I could probably have done all three days of driving on the same tank.

I strongly second the "get one...you won't be disappointed" comment.
