2013 A6 2.0L Engine Oil Recommendation
I just bought an 2013 A6 2.0L with Tiptronics with 7400 miles. It was a dealer loaner. Of course they wanted to sell me a $1200 maintenance package to change oil and check wiper fluids. (LOL). That being said, I do believe in preventive maintenance and want to comply with the warranty requirements. I normally change oil, etc, about every 7500 miles and Audi recommends 10,000. What is your recommended interval, Florida weather, and what viscosity? (I have seen 5W30 and 5W40 recommended) Also, what synthetics do you recommend other than the German brands?
Thanks to all
Bruce
P. S. Not my first Audi. Owned 1985 and 1987 5000 at the time of the "sudden acceleration" fiasco. They were great cars.

With European cars, you follow the engine mfrs recommended spec. In this case the cars call for VAG 502.00. That written spec is all-encompassing.
The most common oil is going to be the Mobil 1 0W40 found at W*mart for $25/5qts.
Welcome aboard!

Me personally do oil at 5K miles regardless, my theory is oil is most important maintenance item and to spend say an extra $90 oil change a year is worth it to me. I will use whatever the dealer uses since they do my changes. While under warranty I like to use dealer as I like to build a relationship with the dealer.
